Tishri Yeme Hol

(‘Aseret Yeme Teshubah, other than Shabbat Teshubah and Tsom Gedaliah)

Note: Sifre Torah cloaks are all white through Kippur.

Shahrit

  • “Tehillat,” “Amonai Hu Ha-Elokim,” and “Amonai Melekh” are to the Rosh Hashanah tunes.
  • ‘Amidah and its Hazarah are like on Rosh Hashanah including the Kedushah to the Yede Rashim tune. Also, include the additions for the Asseret Yeme Teshubah.
  • Immediately after the Hazarah melodies we say “Abinu Malkenu.”
  • Follow the service as indicated in the prayer book.
  • En Kelohenu is recited to the Yede Rashim tune.
  • Barekhu and ‘Alenu to Rosh Hashanah tune.

Minhah

  • In Ashre we sing “Tehillat” to the tune of Yede Rashim.
  • ‘Amidah and its Hazarah are like on Rosh Hashanah including the Kedushah to the Yede Rashim tune. Also, include the additions for the Asseret Yeme Teshubah.
  • Immediately after the Hazarah we say “Abinu Malkenu.”
  • Follow the service as indicated in the prayer book.

Arbit

  • Regular until the ‘Amidah.
  • The ‘Amidah is said with its additions for the Asseret Yeme Teshubah.
  • After the ‘Amidah we say the Selihot with the additions for the Ten Days.
  • We read psalm 130 instead of psalm 121.
  • We do NOT blow the shofar after Rosh Hashanah.
